My practice demonstrates how through time any given idea, philosophy, theory or belief evolves to become something potentially quite remote from its original conception. Fundamental to my practice is an appreciation of every individual’s role in this process, and our awareness of the power and responsibility that we own as we go through life accepting and discarding knowledge, based on beliefs that we hold.
I undertook my MA project, an interactive engagement with the book collection and database, in the University Library, a site where we acquire much of the information that becomes part of our knowledge, shaping our thinking, influencing our individual and collective futures. We accept or reject this information based on previous convictions and what we generate will enter this process of effect and change.
