Process
is vital to me as an artist and a mother.
Elements from my daily life become food for my work.
Exploring my daily rhythms and ritualistic chores I collect and use
the elements of dust and water.
I am interested in what is left behind; by this I mean the dust, the
stains, the detritus of life.
These elements are created by everyone, everywhere.
It is common ground we all make muck.
Through my collections, a poetic narrative occurs and a lived history
is shared.
I see dirt as a metaphor for pain and trauma in life.
We can wash and clean but some stains are so stubborn and penetrated
so deeply that they are with us for life, no matter how hard we scrub.
Through my process led practice I use contemporary and traditional
mediums, of film, sound and stitch work.
